CTLLS - Certificate to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector

Who is the CTLLS Course for?

This course is for anyone teaching in the adult learning sector. During the course you will observed teaching. This will be at your place of work.

What do I need to be able to start CTLLS?

You are required to have PTLLS before joining this course.

You are also required to have key skills at Level 2, we will conduct an initial assessment to ensure that you have this before starting the course. This Course is at Level 4 and Candidates will be expected to understand Research Techniques to complete the Assessment Portfolio. Learners will also need to be able to use Harvard referencing.

How much do CTLLS Training Courses Cost?

Cost - £495 including Registration and all Materials or £595 to include PTLLS. Please note that the inclusive course means you will have to complete PTLLS moving onto the next stage.

What is the training format?

The CTLLS course is divide into three units, these are then covered by way of workshops over a six month period. The units are;

Unit 1 - Planning and Enabling

Unit 2 - Principles and Practice of Assessment

Unit 3 - Optional Unit

Teaching Route

Who needs PTLLS Training?

This course is aimed at learners who wish to teach in the lifelong learning sector. You would need to have functional skills at level II. An initial assessment will take place to ensure that you are at the minimum required standard.

How long does PTLLS take to complete?

The courses are short, typically lasting three to four days (you also have assignments to complete in your own time). You will have a practical assessment and will also be required to complete five assignments which need to be sent in before certificates can be issued. Please note learners from outside of the European Union will be required to show evidence of rights to work in the UK.

What can I do when I pass PTLLS?

Once you have completed the PTLLS Qualification, you will be able to teach your specialist subject. For instance if you are a specialist in Engineering you will be able to teach Engineering at a level one below your qualification. This is for example, you should check with your specialist area what the minimum requirements are.

How much does the PTLLS course cost?

Cost from - £225 Blended or £300 Classroom including Registration and all Materials.

What is the difference between PTLLS Level 3 and 4?

This Course is at Level 3 or 4, candidates at Level 4 will be expected to understand Research Techniques to complete the Assessment Portfolio. Candidates will also be required to use Harvard referencing if undertaking this qualification at level 4.
