The Private Security Industry Act 2001, requires that all individuals working for a Security Company or at a Licensed Premises should hold the necessary SIA Licence for their area of work. It is a Criminal Offence to work without an SIA Licence, which could result in a £5000 fine or 6 Months Prison Sentance
It is possible to work for an SIA Approved Contractor, they will be able to apply for a Licence Dispensation Notice hwilst you SIA Licence is being processed. Make sure tha any company claiming to be an Approved Contractor is on the current ACS list publish on the SIA website. Remember it is an Individual Criminal Offence to work without a Licence
